Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that align with the aims and scope of the Journal of International Community Engagement and Technology (JICET). Submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

1. Manuscript Scope

JICET welcomes manuscripts related to, but not limited to, the following areas:

• Community engagement and empowerment
• Digital and information literacy
• Educational technology and innovation
• Technology for community development
• Participatory action research
• Social innovation and sustainable development
• Community-based learning and service learning
• Digital transformation in education and society

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare their manuscripts according to the following requirements:

• Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.
• The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
• Recommended manuscript length is 5,000–8,000 words, including references.
• Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and A4 paper size with standard margins.
• All pages should be numbered consecutively.

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should include the following sections:

1. Title
2. Author(s) Name and Affiliation
3. Abstract (150–250 words)
4. Keywords (3–5 keywords)
5. Introduction
6. Methods
7. Results and Discussion
8. Conclusion
9. Acknowledgments (optional)
10. References

• Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant references.
• At least 80% of the references should have been published within the last 10 years.
• References should primarily come from peer-reviewed journals.
• JICET uses the APA (7th Edition) citation and referencing style.
• The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.

5. Tables and Figures

• Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
• Each table and figure should have a clear title and, where necessary, a source citation.
• Images should be of high resolution and suitable for publication.

6. Submission Process

Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. The submission must include all required metadata, including author information, abstract, keywords, and references.

7. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability for the journal. Eligible manuscripts are then subjected to a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewers' recommendations.

8. Publication Ethics

Authors must adhere to the journal's Publication Ethics policy. Manuscripts involving plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission, or any other form of academic misconduct will be rejected.

9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting JICET the right to publish the article. Published articles are distributed under the journal's selected open-access license.
